As San Diego's only Dark Cabaret band, The Tragic Tantrum have been leaders in waking up the local scene. They have created a niche for the macabre, the strange and the beautiful. Not only a haven for the eccentric, but also a curious pleasure for the music community, they have performed at venues and festivals ranging from the world renowned Casbah, and The Elysium Festival, to The San Diego Independent Music Festival. During the summer of 2009 they hosted Carnival/Noir, a monthly all-ages event featuring live performances, visual art, and music. In December of 2009 they shared a stage with the legendary Gothic EBM band Nitzer Ebb where they won over both the audience and the band itself for their extraordinary performance. Written about in various local press such as The Union Tribune, San Diego Performer Magazine, and The San Diego Reader, The Tragic Tantrum has prompted local music aficionados to prick up their ears and pay attention to a new sound and genre taking off in this city.

Zoe Tantrum's vocal abilities range from playful percussive rhythms to haunting operatic tones. Zeph Tragic's compositions are equally as dynamic, melding the devastating rubato of romanticism to his unique brand of punk piano. With Darrin Lee on drums to compliment the diverse canvas of sound, The Tragic Tantrum creates a world that is both sonically and visually compelling. Combining elements of theater, visual arts, costuming and musical mastery, The Tragic Tantrum live shows have gained a fierce reputation for being unforgettable multi-sensory experiences.

The group last performed in February, 2010 and then moved into studio to work on recording their first album, Mirror, Mirror to be released in 2011. Working with Signature Sound for mixing and acclaimed mastering engineer Ron Boustead, the album captures the magic that the band exhibits in their live shows. For visuals The Tragic Tantrum collaborated with world renowned photographer Daniel Arsenault to deliver a product that will express what the band is about. The range, maturity and emotion revealed in their music is expansive and extends far beyond the mind reaching in to titillate all the artistic senses.
